With quarantine measures in full effect, it’s easy to feel helpless if we don’t fall under the category of ‘essential workers’ such as grocery stores clerks, farmers, supply chain staff and especially all those working in the health-care sector. For the majority of us, we’re being told the best way to help is by acting like we already have the virus and stay home.
Sound advice. But there are actually small and large gestures we can still do despite the lock-down that can potentially have a huge impact. At the community level, there are so many examples of good Samaritans springing into action: banging pots outside their homes at 7 pm to honor health-care workers, delivering groceries to seniors or those undergoing a 2-week self-isolation order, donating blood, rounding up i-pads and laptops for seniors who are cut off from their community centers, posting moral-boosting content for online friends and family…the list goes on!
At Timeless Skin Care, we were sadly not able to switch over to producing hand sanitizer so we started looking at other ways that we could help. As most of us are now being advised to wear a mask when we do have to venture out, we started to relate to the damaging effects of wearing an elasticated fabric over our face for a period of time.
